Up for sale is this delightful Used Scott Great Britain #180, the carmine-rose Five Shillings (5/-) stamp of 1919.
The stamp vignette features an engraved portrait of King George V at left.
At center and right is the allegorical
Britannia Rule the Waves
, with a helmeted Britannia, holding a trident and Union Jack shield, being carried on the sea in a horse drawn chariot.
The stamp is perf’d 11x12, printed on paper with watermark 34.
