Description
Vintage original First Draft scriptfrom the 1950's/1960's private eye crime drama/mystery television series,
PHILIP MARLOWE
, produced by Bilmar Productions for broadcast on ABC.
Based upon the famous character created by Raymond Chandler
, it is for an episode entitled
Not Guilty
, written by Stanley Niss and dated March 11, 1959. It consists of 34 pages on white stock which were 3-hole punched and bound with two brass brads between a light gray cardstock front and back cover. It is in very fine condition with production information handwritten in pencil on the top of the front cover. The name "Jean" was handwritten in red ink on the front cover, and there is a character within named "Jean," so this script was most likely given to the actor who portrayed that character. There are no missing pages, tears, stains, or other flaws.
PLEASE NOTE that we could not locate an episode with this title, as the series only ran for two seasons (1959-60). The very first episode (
The Ugly Duckling
) was broadcast on October 6, 1959 and this First Draft script is dated March 11, 1959. The handwritten notes on the front cover ("Planning Week of 6th") indicate that this episode was either scheduled for production and was never produced, or it was produced but never released (as we could not find a character named "Jean" in any of the episodes listed on IMDb).
