DescriptionEcu Gold Coin MS62 NGC French Gold Coin Charles VI Hammer Coin
1380-1422 France ECU'OR NGC Graded MS62 This is an ECU'OR gold coin. This is a solid coin obtained at a Heritage Auction. It is an Ecudor gold coin issued during the reign of Charles VI. The "ecu" in ecuador gold coin means shield, which is derived from the design of the shield on the coat of arms. It was produced in France during the Hundred Years War with England under the reign of Charles VI. Hammer coins, such as this one, are handmade by artisans using a hammering technique, which gives them a slightly different flavor than machine-made coins. This coin has been graded MS62 by NGC. This coin has been certified MS62 by the NGC, so it is hard to believe that it is over 600 years old. As the price of English hammered coins has already risen, the future looks promising for French hammered coins.
